This beautiful necklace is made from a lovely combination of Japanese Akoya pearls in both white and the now sought after blue colouration. Each of these gorgeous pearls has been threaded and affixed to a fine 44cm 18ct Yellow Gold trace chain necklace.

Blue Akoya pearls are in fact naturally coloured. The distinct colouration is a result of the oyster reacting differently to the normal process. These pearls were traditionally discarded as the goal of Akoya pearls was to generate perfectly white pearls however the distinct blue and silver colourations are now being prized, often worth more than their traditional white counterparts.
